Dear West-Mont United Family,
First and foremost, we hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Through the years, the club has provided us some valuable life lessons about facing adversity, embracing challenges, and overcoming setbacks. The pandemic has brought about significant disruptions that clearly extend beyond the pitch and we recognize it has been a stressful time for all. We as a board continue to meet on a regular basis and the number one goal remains to keep our players and families safe. Based on recent forecasts communicated to us by the State, we are cancelling activities till August 1 and will continue to re-evaluate and provide any information as it becomes available. This will also provide us ample time to strategically plan and develop protocols for when we are able to reopen. If the state allows for youth sports before August 1, we as a board with the directors will discuss what is in the best interest of our members and their safety.
We are reconciling finances as tournaments and leagues are cancelled. Some events have already been cancelled, while others are scheduled to happen. Every soccer organization with whom we work, whether it's a league, facility or tournament, has a different financial policy. Some tournaments are not refunding any money and we have not been able to get a refund for unused indoor field turf time from two of our partners. As you can imagine, the mechanics of sorting it all out take time, and we thank you for your patience. Details on the credits for the spring season will come out soon.
We don't know what the future holds, but the board has evaluated current and future financial obligations to ensure long term financial viability of the club.
We do know how creative and resilient our kids are. We will continue to communicate with you as we know more. Thanks again for your patience and please stay safe.
