Futures Development Program (FDP)

The FDP will provide a technical development program that will provide a fun, educational environment for our youngest players to learn. The Program will be lead by Josh Brown and WMUSA’s professional coaching staff. Invited players from FDP tryouts will receive extra training to prepare players for potential future placement into the U9 travel soccer program. Starting at U7 and U8, the goal is to build on an existing love of soccer, with an emphasis on individual ball skill development, to better prepare players with the necessary skills needed to compete at the travel level.

U7 & U8 FDP: Each player will receive 16 training sessions (4 in the Summer, 6 in the Fall & 6 in the  Winter) and participate in 4 organized festival events, all conducted / supervised by professional and experienced staff. Along with this each player will also receive a full Adidas training kit (shirt, shorts and socks to be worn to all training sessions and events).

Acceptance into the program will require each FDP player to play in the Fall intramural program in order to maximize their potential and provide the right opportunity to put the work that is being done in the FDP training into realistic game situations.

Training for this program will be conducted one day per week for 16 weeks, and will be held in the Summer, Fall and Winter. Training will start in June and continue in July, September, October and November then resume in February and March. Those players selected will be contacted with further information. The FDP training session is in addition to the 1 day per week Fall intramural practice session.  All FDP training sessions are 1 hour in length and will be ran by professional coaches.
